Job Description

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Finance Manager to join a well-established organisation within a fast-paced, service-led environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional looking to take the next step in their career, with responsibility for supporting the leadership of a busy finance function and managing a small team.

You will work closely with the Finance Director, playing a key role in day-to-day operations while contributing to financial planning, reporting, and continuous process improvement.



Key Responsibilities



Financial Operations

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts

  • Assist in producing detailed forecasting documentation

  • Review and validate monthly accruals and prepayments

  • Process prepayments and ensure accurate monthly allocations

  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Prepare payroll analysis and financial reports

  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations

  • Ensure alignment between purchase ledger and general ledger




Team Leadership


  • Supervise and support a small finance team

  • Lead regular team meetings and ensure follow-up on actions

  • Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals

  • Promote a positive and compliant working environment, including health & safety adherence




About You


  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team

  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail

  • Confident in interpreting financial data and producing reports

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions

  • Comfortable presenting information to stakeholders at various levels




Skills & Experience


  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role

  • Experience within a service-led or hospitality environment is highly desirable

  • Strong knowledge of financial processes, regulations, and compliance

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience with accounting systems
