The Opportunity

This is a key position within a high-performing design team, offering the opportunity to lead the delivery of earthing and lightning protection solutions across major infrastructure and high-voltage projects. The role will suit an experienced engineer looking to combine technical expertise with leadership responsibility in a forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of earthing and lightning protection systems for HV and substation projects
  
  
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a growing design team
  
  
• Manage multiple projects from concept through to detailed design and completion
  
  
• Contribute to substation design, high-voltage systems, and FEED studies
  
  
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practice
  
  
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  
  
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in earthing design methodologies
  
  
• Conduct design reviews and ensure robust quality assurance across all deliverables
  
  

About You

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s advantageous)
  
  
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards
  
  
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in earthing design
  
  
• Strong knowledge of earthing principles and lightning protection systems
  
  
• Experience with XGSLab and/or CDEGS software
  
  
• Understanding of substation design, HV systems, and FEED studies
  
  
• Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring or guiding engineers
  
  
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  
  
• Highly analytical with strong problem-solving ability
