Part of a major international manufacturing group, our client has built a new modern manufacturing factory and requires an experienced Facilities Maintenance Engineer to look after all building facilities & sites services ( hard and soft)
Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Salary to £40000, pension, life assurance, 25 + 8 days holiday, paid overtime,
Hours: Day shift Monday to Friday
Location: Telford
Duties:
Part of the plant maintenance team, as the site Facilities Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing all plant related building services and facilities maintenance ( breakdown & preventative ) – everything from CCTV/ Access/ Alarm systems; Boilers; HV/LV electrical; Cooling towers; Water treatment; Compressors; Lighting; Drainage; Air conditioning; Cleaning; Site security; Building fabric and grounds/ car park etc. Much of these systems are contracted out to specialist businesses.
o The role will be varied and involve both hands on maintenance and management of sub contractors, ensuring breakdown and planned preventative maintenance of building services and site services in a modern newly built production facility to minimising downtime and disruptions to the manufacturing process.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute equipment maintenance, upgrades or modifications.
o Oversee the site security measures, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, contractors, equipment, and facilities.
o Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, identifying and mitigating risks - review RAMS and issue permits to work.
o Utilise CMMS to plan & maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
o Coordinate with external vendors & contractors for equipment servicing or repairs when necessary.
Experience:
Application are sought from experienced Maintenance Technicians or Building Services or Facilities Engineers who are looking for varies and responsible role working in a modern and secure working environment.
o Broad knowledge of building service and site services plant & equipment - CCTV/ Access/ Alarm; Boilers; HV/LV electrical; Cooling towers; Water treatment; Compressors; Lighting; Drainage; Air conditioning; Cleaning; Site security; Building fabric and grounds
o Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting systems
Managing external contractors including writing scope of works, review RAMS and issuing permits to work
o Excellent problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to identify and resolve issues.
o Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
o Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
o Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations
o Ideally time served with relevant technical qualifications - C&G/ BTEC/ NVQ electrical or mechanical engineering
