A leading global law firms with around 2,500 lawyers on six continents is looking for an Investment Funds Associate / Lawyer to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Investment Fund team will advise on all aspects of investment funds and pooled investment, from the initial structuring of a vehicle, to the legal, regulatory and tax aspects of establishing a fund and then on an on going basis advising in relation to its operation and promotion. The team has a track record and expertise across a range of investment products (including alternatives to the conventional funds, such as structured products and insurance based products). Work includes both retail and institutional products, both onshore and offshore products and open and closed ended funds. The firm have set up funds in the UK and other EU jurisdictions such as Luxembourg and Ireland, and in offshore countries such as Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and the Channel Islands. They operate across asset classes, with a particular emphasis on real estate funds and infrastructure funds. In addition, they have an active practice advising funds investing in equities in both developed and developing markets, funds investing in private equity, commodities as well as hedge funds. The practice is evenly balanced between work on private funds and listed funds.
Advising Prudential M&G on the establishment of several large real estate funds, real estate debt funds, corporate debt funds and infrastructure funds
Advising Columbia Threadneedle on the establishment a large number of real estate funds
Advising Aberdeen Asset Management on the establishment of seven infrastructure funds
Advising Pantheon on private equity coinvestments and secondaries
Advising on the IPOs of the following listed investment funds: HICL Infrastructure Fund Limited, John Laing Infrastructure Fund Limited International Public Partnerships Limited and John Laing Environmental Assets Group Limited
