HGV Driver – Night Shunter

Are you a newly qualified CE Driver, looking to take the first step in your HGV career? This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience while working as part of the night team for a well-established logistics company.

Our client is keen to support new passes in building confidence behind the wheel, developing practical skills, and establishing a long-term career within a reputable transport operation.
 

Pay: £17.00 per hour

Hours: 18:00 to 06:00 / 50–55 hours per week (offering stability)

Shifts: Monday to Friday (NO Weekends)

Location: Robertsbridge (East Sussex)

Contract: Temporary / Temp to Perm

 
The Role:

As a Class 1 (Shunter), you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of night operations. Working as a Class 1 driver within the night team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers around the yard.

This position is ideal for a C&E Driver wanting consistent work in a supportive environment where learning and development are encouraged from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating as a CE driver, moving approximately 20 trailers per night
  
  
• Shunting units and trailers safely within the yard
  
  
• Supporting the wider night operation and working closely with the transport team
  
  
• Carrying out vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects
  
  
• Maintaining compliance with all driving regulations and site procedures
  
  

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 (C&E) licence
  
  
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  
  
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  
  
• Good awareness of health & safety standards
