Pertemps are currently recruiting for an Analytical Chemist to join a leading chemical manufacturing company based in Basingstoke, this is a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilities as an Analytical Chemist:

• Carry out process control and analytical testing of raw materials, intermediates and end products in support of the manufacturing process. 
  
  
• Carry out testing of samples sent by external customers. 
  
  
• Perform calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
  
  
• Ensure that activities carried out are documented accordingly to ensure high quality standards and traceability.
  
  
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing team 
  
  
• Assist with the preparation and release of certificates on analysis 
  
  
• Carry out laboratory housekeeping
  
  
• Prepare analytical standards and reagents 
  
  

Requirements:

• Education or Degree in Chemistry 
  
  
• 1 year or more experience in a similar role is advantageous
  
  
• Excellent computer skills including Excel 
  
  
• Excellent organisational skills 
  
  
• A real interest in Chemistry 
  
  
• Comfortable wearing protective clothing and breathing masks for long periods of time
  
  

The Chemist Role:

• Rotating shifts  
  
  
  • Early – 6am – 2pm
    
    
  • Mid – 9am – 5pm 
    
    
  • Late – 11am – 7pm 
    
    
• Starting salary of £28,000 
  
  
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
