Job Description

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a leading business based in Hampshire to recruit a Manufacturing Accountant.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused, finance professional with manufacturing experience to join a large organisation in a key role, supporting financial performance for the specified business area.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, the Manufacturing Accountant will play a key role in producing variance analysis, costing, forecasting, month-end reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role
The role works closely with the business, and you will be the finance contact supporting manufacturing operations, delivering meaningful analysis and insights.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Producing daily, weekly, and monthly variance analysis reports
    • Supporting month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Managing and maintaining standard costing processes
    • Supporting forecasting and producing a range of financial analysis
    • Partnering with operational and cross-functional teams to improve financial performance
    • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting
    • Assisting with working capital management and process improvements
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a Manufacturing Accountant, Cost Accountant, Management Accountant, or Commercial Accountant role within a manufacturing or similar environment.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Be qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA, or be close to qualification
    • Have previous experience within a manufacturing accounting environment
    • Possess a strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis
    • Have advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
    • Be confident in the presentation of financial information to non-financial stakeholders
    • Have experience working with ERP systems
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Have a proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
