£7.50 - £8.92 per hour
The opportunity to work as a Food Packing Line Operative has become available in a busy warehouse in Ridgmont, Milton Keynes (Junction 13, M1).
The shift is currently Monday to Friday, 14.00-18.00 with very occasional overtime. By the end of August the shift will be Monday to Wednesday 14.00-22.00. Flexibility is required to work the occasional Saturday. This is initially a six month contract with the possibility of it being extended. It is essential that the same people see the contract through so please only apply if you are available Monday to Friday for a minimum of six months and are willing to commit to the position.
The job role is carried out in a controlled food environment and it is a legal requirement that you wear the provided mob cap, beard snood (if applicable), white overcoat and shoe protectors and sanitise your hands frequently. You will need to pass a basic food handling test before starting work and watch the company Health and Safety DVDs. All food items are in sealed packaging so you are not touching raw food products or alcohol.
Full training will be given but previous similar experience would be an advantage.
As Food Packing Line Operative your duties will include:
Working on a fast-paced food line/conveyor in a busy logistics warehouse and strictly conforming food production environment
Keeping up with the line, ensuring each box/kit has the correct food products added
Keeping the storage containers along the line filled with the correct product to be put in each kit
Adhering to the strict Food Safety policies
Supporting the Kit Line Team Leader
Maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
Achieving the targets and job standards set out by the Kit Line Team Leader
Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
Performing any reasonable request from the Contract Manager
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
Level 2 in Food Hygiene (preferred but not essential)
Food production background in a warehouse environment
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team
Good attention to detail
The site is accessible by train (£4.70 return) with a five minute walk from the station to the site. There is no access by bus. The site has its' own car park.
