Our client requires Production Line Operatives for the fast-paced food packing line in their warehouse in Ridgmont, Milton Keynes. The position starts immediately and is on-going whilst they trial a new product.

The shift patterns available are Monday to Friday 06.00-14.00 and 14.00-22.00. Flexibility is required to work the occasional Saturday. The role pays £7.83 per hour for the initial 12 weeks, increasing to £8.92 thereafter.

The job is carried out in a controlled food environment within a large warehouse. It is a legal requirement that you wear the provided mob cap, beard snood (if applicable) and white overcoat. You will need to pass a basic food handling test before starting work and watch the company Health and Safety DVDs. The role involves adding the correct items to the boxes/kits as they pass by on the Line. All items are pre-packaged/sealed so there is no direct contact with food.

As Line Operative your duties will include:
Working on a fast-paced food packing line
Working as a team along the line, ensuring each box/kit has the correct (sealed) food products added
Keeping the hoppers topped up with the product to be put in each kit
Adhering to the Food Safety policies and maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
Supporting the Kit Line Team Leader
Achieving the daily targets and job standards as set out by the Team Leader
Performing any reasonable request from the Team Leader

The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
Level 2 in Food Hygiene (preferred but not essential)
Food packaging background in a warehouse environment
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to work under pressure and to work as part of a team
Good attention to detail
Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work

This position does not involve the handling of any alcohol, meat products. Also no food products which are not in sealed packaging. In order to prevent contamination, all jewellery has to be removed prior to starting work - a wedding ring is permissible - and no make-up or nail varnish can be worn at work.

The site is accessible by train to Ridgmont with a five minute walk from the station to the site. Please check the timetable for your location. There is no access by bus. The site has its' own car and bike parking on the site.
