You have the chance to join a large manufacturing business as their Health and Safety Manager. This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established business in a senior leadership position. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a well-respected manufacturing business in their site in Bridgnorth, which has around 500 staff operating 24/7. They are leaders in their field, well known with a long standing heritage in the area. You will report into the MD and sit as part of the leadership team, driving forward a new wave of safety.

You will be expected to work closely with the MD and the HSE team to drive best practice and safety working practices across a fast paced and varied high risk manufacturing site. With your direct report, you will ensure the site is operating at a legally compliant level and make some quick and notable improvements on site in the short term. You will assist in everything from near miss reporting, create KPI's and lead in house training with managers to ensure a consistent message is being driven home. You will create and implement a company strategy in relation to all elements of health and safety and look to future proof the business. With OHSAS 18001 in place, it will be your responsibility to manage and maintain this and work forwards the new ISO standard. Getting the basics right and driving continuous improvement is key.

What is needed from you:

• NEBOSH Diploma level (or equivalent)
• Management systems experience with OHSAS 18001 experience.
• You must have worked in a high risk manufacturing or industrial engineering business.

• Engaging and personable and have gravitas
• The ability to influence at all levels but be resilient and push back
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships
• Self-motivated and can work autonomously
