Heavy Lifting warehouse Operative

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Operative to join a busy warehouse team in Crawley. This is a hands-on, heavy-lifting role involving the safe movement, loading and unloading of large and heavy items throughout the shift.
You will work as part of a team to ensure goods are handled safely, stored correctly and prepared for dispatch in line with health and safety procedures.
Key Duties:

• Safely lift, carry and move heavy items throughout the shift, often working in two-person lifting teams.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles, containers and pallets.
• Move stock around the warehouse and place items in the correct storage locations.
• Pick, pack, wrap and label goods ready for dispatch.
• Use handheld scanners to check and record stock where required.
• Check deliveries for damaged, missing or incorrect items and report any issues.
• Palletise, band and shrink-wrap stock where required.
• Keep the warehouse clean, tidy and free from trip hazards.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, safe manual handling techniques and site rules.

Requirements:

• Previous warehouse, manual handling or heavy lifting experience is advantageous.
• Must be physically fit and comfortable with continuous heavy lifting, bending, stretching and standing for long periods.
• Confident working in a fast-paced environment and meeting daily targets.
• Reliable, hard-working and able to work well as part of a team.
• Willing to take on any challenge and adapt to different tasks.
• Comfortable using handheld scanners and following instructions.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
