Join us as a Senior Project Engineer in Thames Water’s dynamic Capital Delivery team and play a key role in delivering high‑quality project design, safe and efficient delivery, and outstanding customer outcomes. Working alongside a Principal Engineer, you’ll help uphold the standards that keep our major infrastructure projects running smoothly — and your contribution will make a meaningful impact across the business.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Engineer
  • Lead design engineering for Water Network Projects in line with project delivery procedures
    • Take a lead role in planning and delivering design activities
    • Work collaboratively with the team to meet time and cost targets
    • Act as the key contact for the CDM Designer or Principal Designer responsibilities
    • Apply strong risk management skills — identifying, mitigating, and controlling risks, and adding value during outline design
    • Provide technical assurance during the delivery, commissioning, and handover of assets
    • Manage multiple projects and oversee work delivered by external consultants
This is a hybrid role based in Maple Lodge, with 2–3 days a week on site within London and the Thames Valley36 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

What you should bring to the role
  • Degree‑level education (or equivalent) in Civil or Mechanical engineering discipline, plus professional chartership
    • Strong experience in water network design and technical assurance
    • A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders
    • Experience managing project teams and taking accountability for delivery
    • Confidence using company IT systems and Office software

  • Competitive salary from £55,000 to £68,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
    • Annual Leave -26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
