Job Description
Power Resilience plays an important part in Thames Water’s ability to provide safe, reliable services to millions of customers. We’re growing our Power Resilience team to strengthen how power is planned, maintained and enhanced across our operations.
We’re looking for people with strong coordination, planning and collaboration skills to join this developing team and help shape a joined-up, data-led approach to Power Resilience across Thames Water.
What you’ll be doing as Works Coordination Manager:
As Works Coordination Manager, you’ll lead the planning and coordination of power-related activity across Thames Water. You’ll help ensure critical maintenance, resilience improvements and outage activities are planned effectively, delivered successfully and aligned with customer service levels and regulatory requirements.
You’ll work closely with operational teams across Thames Water to support effective Power Resilience delivery, identify opportunities to reduce potential conflicts and help minimise disruption to capital delivery programmes wherever possible.

Day-to-Day responsibilities will include:
- Planning team support and leadership: You’ll support, guide and develop the planning team, bringing together Power Resilience engineering, analytics and operational delivery plans to help deliver the Power Strategy.
- Coordination and planning: You’ll oversee the coordination and planning of power-related field activities, helping ensure work is aligned with SLAs, regulatory requirements and business priorities.
- Collaboration and integration: You’ll work closely with Power Resilience colleagues and wider teams to keep plans aligned across engineering, maintenance, operations and delivery, balancing operational needs with resilience investment priorities.
- Stakeholder coordination: You’ll build positive working relationships with internal and external teams to coordinate planned and reactive works, make the best use of resources and minimise service disruption.
- Performance and compliance: You’ll develop, monitor and report on planning KPIs, budgets and compliance with internal policies and external standards, supporting high-quality planning performance, continuous improvement and shared success.
- Experience in planning or coordination within utilities, engineering or another regulated environment.
- Experience supporting, guiding or developing a team.
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering, operations, contractor or delivery teams.
- Experience using digital tools or data insights to improve planning would be helpful, but is not essential.
- Planning, coordination, technical or engineering qualifications would be helpful, but we also welcome equivalent experience.
- A good understanding of planning and coordination principles, tools and systems, such as MS Project, SAP or similar.
- The ability to analyse information, solve problems and make informed recommendations.
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with information from different sources and stakeholders.
- Good IT skills, including the ability to use planning and reporting software.
- Offering a salary between £47,000 and £58,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
- Annual Leave: 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays).
