It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Corporate Investigation Officer to join the Finance & Assurance, Corporate Anti-Fraud Team. The successful candidate will report to the Corporate Anti Fraud Manager and will be responsible for assisting the authority to deter, prevent, detect, investigate and pursue all types of fraud affecting the authority including awareness both internally and in the community alongside our partners and customers.
The post holder will be expected to investigate, to a criminal standard, in a line with the relevant legislation, in particular the Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) and Criminal Procedures & Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA)
The successful candidate will deputise as required for the Service Manager and attend Magistrates, Crown or county Court as a witness as either the investigating officer or representative for the Council.

To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:

"A good knowledge and understanding of local authority services including but not limited to, council tax, business rates, insurance, payroll, social care, education, public health, grants and housing.
"A good knowledge and understanding of the use of different and innovative investigation techniques
"Experience of investigation fraud to a criminal standard
"Experience of multidisciplinary and inter-agency partnership
"A good knowledge and understanding of the main fraud risks affecting local authorities in a changing counter-fraud landscape.
