This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HN Team Manager who will be responsible for managing a team or teams of frontline staff that deliver services covering one or more of housing/homelessness assessment, housing advice and prevention initiatives, procurement of private sector accommodation & services for private landlords, management of PSLs and ASTs, the Housing Register, Allocations and Temporary Accommodation placement.
Harrow Council is the 12th largest London borough by and one of the most culturally diverse local authorities in the UK, making it a great place to live, work and visit. Located 10 miles from the city centre and just 13 minutes to Euston from Harrow & Wealdstone station there are great transport links via the Metropolitan Line, Watford DC Line and national rail service. It is easily accessible to the M1, M25 and A406.
The successful applicant will have:
"Knowledge of the private rented sector; the council's statutory function to protect citizens from illegal eviction;
"Understanding of the needs of people undergoing housing stress.
"Good standard of literacy and numeracy
"Experience of delivering a customer focused service, dealing with customer queries by telephone and/ or face to face, achieving satisfactory outcomes.
"Experience of responding to complex complaints in a sympathetic and factually accurate manner.
"Ability to set, deliver and monitor achievement of challenging service targets and performance standards.
"Must be flexible regarding working hours in order to ensure good customer service which, occasionally, is outside 9.00am - 5.00pm.
"Must be able to carry out home visits. These visits may include to properties above ground floor and with no lift access.
