Overview of an Environment Protection Officer / Noise Protection Officer:

Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Environment Protection Officer / Noise Protection Officer to join an expanding team. The role of a Environment Protection Officer / Noise Protection Officer has a competitive pay rate of £ 18.21 - £22.62per hour, increasing in line with Harrow Council Pay Scale increments. Other benefits include, accruing up to 28 days holiday per year (including Bank Holidays) and the opportunity to apply for any internal permanent roles within Harrow Council.

The Main Purpose of an Environment Protection Officer / Noise Protection Officer:

• Carry out Enforcement functions including to enable the Council to meet its statutory obligations of private housing, environmental protection, animal services, including inspection, enforcement, education and advice.
• Carry out Enforcement functions in a customer facing front line environment representing Harrow Council in often challenging and hostile circumstances in the execution of duties.
• Carry out Enforcement functions between 25% - 40% from an office base, and from between 60% to 75% from site-based visits to premises in Harrow Council, carrying appropriate equipment.
• Work as part of an Enforcement team in accordance with statutory requirements and in compliance with relevant Council policies and procedures.
• Represent the Council as a duly authorised Officer to educate and work in partnership with relevant internal and external organisations to enhance the safety and wellbeing of the public

About you, the successful Environment Protection Officer / Noise Protection Officer will have:

• Experience of data management and monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
• Must be able to demonstrate recent experience of working in the field of environmental protection and nuisance investigation. Including but not limited to noise monitoring and assessment, clean air and ASB
• Must be able to work out of office hours
• Higher level qualification relevant to role
