Network Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Learning Disability Nurse to work on a permanent contract based in an adult short break service based in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. The position is for 15 hours per week and the unit is able to offer flexibility with regards to days and hours worked. Candidates will be able to choose their own working hours and agree with the service.
The unit has capacity for 12 adults at any one time however never accommodates any more than eight at a time. They offer a short break service to adults with disabilities including complex needs. The service is staffed by a mixture of Support staff and Team Leaders and feels a Nurse would be beneficial within the team, particularly for service users with more complex needs.
The main purpose of the role will be to support and advise staff with regards to service users who have more complex needs to help expand their knowledge in more specialist areas such as diabetes, peg feeding, epilepsy, seizures and medications. Having the confidence and ability to guide staff in these areas is essential.
In order to be considered for this post candidates must be a Registered Nurse, have at least two years UK experience practising as a Nurse, have experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities, be able to commit to working 15 hours per week, be confident in their approach to Nursing with excellent knowledge of safeguarding, have fantastic communication skills.
In return our client is able to offer a salary up to £32,000 per annum (to be pro rata), holiday pay, training and development, maximum flexibility, supportive management team and more.
