What is the purpose of this role?
Our client, the UK's largest Water and Sewerage Company, is currently looking for an 'Industrial Mechanical and Electrical Technician' on a permanent or temp-perm basis to ensure that all equipment associated with Mogden sewage treatment works are running safely and efficiently using both proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will need to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, electrical & mechanical plant equipment.
Working within the maintenance team you will follow robust maintenance plan as well as getting involved in minor installation projects, electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure our plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Information and Salary
This role is based out of Mogden Sewage Treatment Works in Twickenham, offering a salary of up to £47k OTE depending on experience and qualifications.

Participation in a 24/7 out of hours standby rota may be required after a suitable period of training and assessment, for which you will receive an additional payment, which is included in the above OTE. What will this role involve?
Working in a multi discipline team, with the following responsibilities:
" Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work in compliance with company procedures in order to minimise plant breakdowns
" Investigating the nature of plant failures and subsequently carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to avoid interruptions to the process
" Carrying out the repair and maintenance of electrical motor drive systems and associated control systems including Inverter drives
" Carrying out the installations, refurbishment and commissioning of mechanical plant to specification and on time
" Investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carry out repairs during incidents
" Providing technical advice where appropriate; making reference to up to date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required
" Participating in a stand-by rota following the relevant training
Examples of equipment you will be working on will be: Various pumps and associated control gear, 3 phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD's, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
What skills are the client looking for?
Are you an apprenticeship-served technician? Do you have experience working with industrial plant equipment? Our client is looking for a combined mechanical / electrical qualified technician with similar experience in a related industry.
Experience and working knowledge of large pumps, actuated valves, electronic control systems such as VSD's and 3 phase electrical switch gear is essential, whilst computer literacy and the ability to input data on bespoke software is required. The work will require physical fitness; so you will need the ability to work in confined spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training. Due to the nature of the role, a valid driving licence is essential since the post will work across a couple of different sites.
