An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Strategy Officer based in Aylesbury to join an expanding company.
As a Business Strategy Officer will include:
Support the development and coordination of the service business planning, in collaboration with the TEE Extended leadership team, for the business unit to be developed, understood and complied with.
Ensure effective reporting on the progress against the strategic outcomes.
Build strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation, creating and managing cross Business Unit initiatives in line with the operating framework and corporate direction.
To keep abreast of policies / procedures / government guidance and legislation related to TEE services.
Being a critical officer in horizon scanning, collating information and assessing the impact on the Business Unit to inform decision making and forward planning.
Prepare reports and presentation to support the political and managerial decision making processes around all elements of change across the business unit.
Lead on communications and cascade of information across the business unit and coordination of service and supplier events. To co-ordinate the appropriate communication strategy and dissemination of information across the business unit.
Manage and coordinate the forward plan and agenda setting of the Business Unit Board, TEE leadership team and Extended Leadership Team.
To deal with a range of difficult and sensitive situations in relation to restructuring, behaviour change and commercialisation of the service.
Act as project lead for smaller transformation projects and business change work-streams ensuring that the projects are delivered on time and to budget and the appropriate project planning and progress documentation is produced and presented to the project team/ board and sponsor.
To liaise with other service units in the Council and external and partner organisations on the implications of projects and service business plans.
An ideal Business Strategy Officer will hold the following skills and experiences:
Experience of service / business planning
Expert knowledge and understanding of the systems, policy, practices, within the specialist area.
Project management skills, knowledge and experience of project management tools.
Understanding of emerging developments within the scope of the specialist area
Knowledge of local government and wider sector / external influences.
Authority and credibility to build relationships and engage successfully with colleagues, partners and customers
Strong influencing skills, in order to motivate people and partnerships and influence outcomes critical to the organisation
Experience of managing budgets and resources
Experience of defining and developing systems, policies, procedures and / or practices and contributing to strategy development
Experience of managing change effectively in a variety of functional and business environments
Experienced project manager with an excellent understanding of project management methodologies and systems
Proven ability to apply high levels of imitative and strategic awareness to problem solving and decision making
Excellent time management skills to manage complex workload, prioritise and set deadlines
