Accounts Assistant ( ACCA/ICAEW or Newly Qualified )
£35,000 - £40,000

A well established Insurance Brokers in the heart of the City are looking to recruit a newly qualified or an individual who is at the final stage of ACCA/ICAEW

Key relationships will be
Internal - Accounts, IBA, Cells, and all group wide departments
External - HSBC, Auditors and other suppliers

You will be responsible for the day to day processing within the finance department.

To provide assistance with the preparation of the monthly management accounts

Teamwork:
Assisting wider accounts team with queries
Providing cover for accounts staff as required
Assisting with Ad-hoc projects
To be a positive and proactive member of the accounts team and be a role model within the team

Process documentation for international payments and inter- company transfers, both wire transfers and cheques
Invoice processing
Purchase ledger maintenance
Invoice & employee expense payments
Process and maintain monthly Prepayments and Accruals
Monitor non-insurance debtors and creditors
Prepare bank reconciliations for Insurance and Office bank accounts
Process the monthly income withdrawal calculation reports from the Insurance bank accounts to the office account
Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Prepare and maintain accounting schedules to support monthly management accounts
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual audit
Review weekly invoices and Payment run reports
Prepare and maintain inter-company reconciliation
Assume other ad-hoc responsibilities as required

Knowledge Required
Basic accounting knowledge essential, but no specific insurance knowledge required. Studying towards a professional qualification with experience in using finance systems highly desirable.
