I am delighted to be representing a number of fantastic and dynamic schools that provide education, and support for children and young people who have a range of complex needs ranging from MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) to PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.)

These organizations have a strong sense of care and compassion for people with learning disabilities, focusing on supporting and enabling people to develop their skills and participate in meaningful activities that reflect their abilities, wishes and needs.

We are looking to recruit  vibrant, experienced and engaging LSAs to join their multi-disciplinary teams. The successful applicant will be required to work with a range of ages (from Year 5 to Year 10) in small groups of 6 - 10 and will support children with MLD, PMLD, SEMH (Challenging Behaviour) and Autism.  The postholder will be expected to offer a level of personal care.

Many of the learners at these schools have difficulty with communication, are non-verbal and need high levels of support in all areas.  You must have experience of working with children and young adults requiring this level of care.

Applicants must have:

  • Previous SEND experience, working within an PMLD, SLD, MLD environment
  • A desire to help, support and nurture children who have various SEN
  • Experienced in supporting children who exhibit challenging behaviors
This in an amazing opportunity for the right person who really wants to thrive in a warm and friendly atmosphere and strongly support in an environment where children feel safe, secure and happy, enabling them to get the best possible educational experience, allowing them to thrive by being themselves.

If you have experience and a passion for working with young people with MLD,PMLD,BESD needs, please do get in touch with Branden at Pertemps Education, Chelmsford.

*These roles are typically a January start with opportunity to work part time between now and December*
