Internal Sales Executive sought by a leading, forward-thinking builders merchant in Welham Green. One of two branches around London, this builders merchant is part of a group of companies operating in the construction sector.
The Role:This role is an important element of the company’s growth strategy in both growing the existing branch customer base and in identifying and acquiring new local customers for the branch.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will deal extensively with customers to identify their needs by providing product advice to customers, dealing with quotes and queries, liaising with drivers regarding deliveries and actively seeking sales through customer contacts to maximise sales opportunities. Your day to day duties will include:
Internal Sales Support- Take incoming sales calls, and emails from existing and new customers and set up sales orders
- Raise quotations for customer enquiries
- Liaise with suppliers to source products and coordinate orders and deliveries.
- Update customer information in the database during and after each message or call.
- Work to achieve KPIs as set out by the Sales Manager
- Maintain a high level of repeat business by keeping in touch with customer requirements through calls, messages, and emails. Nurture and build a relationship with the customers to increase AOV and lifetime value.
Ecommerce Sales Support- Take incoming sales calls, emails and chat messages from existing and new customers and set up sales orders
- Raise quotations for customer enquiries
- Assist customers with use of the site, placing an order, delivery times, products, deliveries, or payments.
- Liaise with suppliers to source products and coordinate orders and deliveries.
- Liaise with transport manager to coordinate deliveries.
- Update customer information in the database during and after each message or call.
- Work to achieve KPIs as set out by the Sales Manager
- Maintain a high level of repeat business by keeping in touch with customer requirements through calls, messages, and emails. Nurture and build a relationship with the customers to increase AOV and lifetime value.
The successful Internal Sales Executive will demonstrate:- Minimum 1 year’s experience of construction industry sales
- Strong, well-rounded knowledge of products sold within the construction industry, particularly within a builders merchant setting
- Understanding of industry fundamentals – products, suppliers, measurements, pricing etc
- Customer-facing skills
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite & Ticketing Software
- Sales experience
- Enthusiastic attitude
- Self-motivated
- Good communication skills, communicating within your team, across departments and with customers
