Occupational Health Nurse (RGN)
12 Month contract
Hourly rate negotiable
Purpose of Role
To provide clinical support to the Occupational Health Department in a customer and quality-focused manner, which supports the overall business objectives. To ensure the service delivery meets both legal and business requirements. This role is conducted more by telephone than face to face.
Key responsibilities :
o Case management ; complete comprehensive functional capability assessments on employees either who are absent from work or referred through by the line manager, giving advice to both the employee and business regarding fitness to work
o Health surveillance : perform the required health surveillance procedures and interpret results in line with department procedure / policy. Advising the employee and business, when appropriate of the outcome of the results.
Knowledge and Experience
o Registered General Nurse
o Minimum 5 years' experience in Occupational Health Nursing.
o Qualification in Occupational Health
o Certified HAVS assessor - desirable
o NEBOSH certificate desirable but not essential
o Industrial Audiometry/Spirometry certificate and other specialist skills desirable
o Interpersonal, communication and motivational skills
