The Role As an SEMH & SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with SEMH, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and additional learning needs
- Work on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
- Help pupils regulate emotions and engage positively with learning
- Support behaviour management using positive reinforcement strategies
- Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive environment
- Build positive relationships that boost confidence, resilience, and progress
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs
- Hold a background in Psychology, Education, Youth Work, or a related field
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Be calm, adaptable, and resilient under pressure
- Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
- Be confident working collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals
- A welcoming and supportive leadership team
