Location: Kingston Upon Thames, South West London
School Type: Independent Specialist SEN School
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30 – 16:30 Term-time only

Pertemps Education Network is working in partnership with an independent specialist SEN school in Kingston Upon Thames to recruit a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience within a specialist educational setting. The role would suit an aspiring Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, SEN Teacher or another professional looking to pursue a career supporting children with additional needs.
The Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers, specialist support staff and other professionals to help pupils access learning, develop their communication skills and build confidence and independence.

- Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
- Supporting the development of communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independent learning skills.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning through patient, structured and consistent support.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and meaningful participation in classroom activities.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN specialists and speech and language professionals to support individual pupil targets.
- Contributing to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

- Psychology or Child Development
- Speech and Language Therapy or Linguistics
- Education or Childhood Studies
- Sociology or a related social science
