HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers – Wakefield - Nights

Job Description

Pertemps Sheffield are recruiting for 2 x experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join a busy distribution operation based in Wakefield. Please note you will be required to use a forklift. This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for guaranteed hours on a dedicated trunk route between Wakefield and Shrewsbury.

The Role

• Trunking between Wakefield and Shrewsbury as part of a double-manned crew
  
  
• 11:30pm start time
  
  
• Approximate return to Wakefield around 8:00am
  
  
• Assisting with loading delivery vehicles at the Shrewsbury depot
  
  
• Supporting warehouse operations when required
  
  
• Operating a Forklift Truck (FLT) as part of the role
  
  
• FLT training will be provided
  
  
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
  
  
• Completing transport paperwork and maintaining compliance records
  
  
• Ensuring all loads are transported safely and securely
  
  
• Following all Driver Hours, Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations
  
  
• Maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism and teamwork
  
  

Pay Rate

• £16.50 per hour
  
  
• Guaranteed 50 hours per week
  
  

Shift Pattern

• Sunday to Thursday
  
  
• 11:30pm starts
  
  
• Start date: Sunday 28th June
  
  
• Inductions available Wednesday, Thursday or Friday prior to start
  
  

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
  
  
• Driver CPC Qualification
  
  
• Digital Tachograph Card
  
  
• Minimum 2 years' Class 1 driving experience
  
  
• Previous trunking experience preferred
  
  
• Good understanding of Driver Hours and Tachograph regulations
  
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
  
  
• Reliable, flexible and professional attitude
  
  
• Willingness to operate a Forklift Truck (FLT) as part of the role
  
  
• No more than 6 penalty points (No DD, DR or IN10 convictions)
