Job Description

Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Rate: £31.35 per hour
Location: Brent (Hybrid Working)

About the Role:
Pertemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a Children’s Social Care team in Brent. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with complex needs and make a meaningful impact on their independence and quality of life.
The role focuses on delivering specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for children with significant physical, cognitive, or sensory impairments, in line with relevant legislation and departmental eligibility criteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people
    • Develop and implement tailored intervention plans to promote independence
    • Recommend and arrange provision of equipment, home adaptations, and specialist seating
    • Carry out manual handling assessments and develop safe handling plans
    • Conduct environmental assessments to support daily living and accessibility
    • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams
    • Support children’s development, learning, play, and social inclusion
    • Assess carers’ needs and ensure appropriate support is identified and provided
Requirements:
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant HCPC registration
    • Experience working within paediatric or children’s services
    • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice within Children’s Social Care
    • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
