SEND Stage 1 Complaints Lead
Location: Somerset
Rate: £370 per day
Working Arrangements: Remote or hybrid, to be discussed directly with the successful candidate
Pertemps Social Care is currently recruiting for a SEND Stage 1 Complaints Lead to work with a local authority in Somerset.
The successful candidate will lead on the management and resolution of Stage 1 SEND complaints, ensuring concerns are handled promptly, fairly and in accordance with statutory guidance, local policies and best practice.

Pertemps Social Care is currently recruiting for a SEND Stage 1 Complaints Lead to work with a local authority in Somerset.
The successful candidate will lead on the management and resolution of Stage 1 SEND complaints, ensuring concerns are handled promptly, fairly and in accordance with statutory guidance, local policies and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all Stage 1 SEND complaints from acknowledgement through to resolution.
- Investigate complaints thoroughly, gathering and reviewing relevant information, records and evidence.
- Prepare clear, accurate and professional Stage 1 complaint responses within agreed timescales.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, schools and professionals throughout the complaints process.
- Identify key issues, concerns and learning arising from complaints.
- Work collaboratively with services and partner agencies to resolve concerns at the earliest opportunity.
- Ensure complaints are considered fairly, objectively and consistently.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the Senior Inclusion Lead where appropriate.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, guidance and processes.
- Experience of investigating complaints or resolving complex concerns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- Experience working within a local authority, education or SEND service is desirable.
- Knowledge of statutory complaints procedures and dispute resolution processes is desirable.
- Experience working with families and multi-agency partners is desirable.
