Contract role, Local Authority Housing Services
Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Community Homelessness Prevention Officer in the Central London area.
You will need to have worked in a similar role within a Local Authority Housing Department, and have experience of the following:
- Experience of working within homelessness services
- Working knowledge of homelessness legislation, policies, and preventative processes
- Provide early intervention and preventative support to residents at risk of homelessness
- Manage a complex caseload, progressing cases proactively and independently
- Work directly with residents in the community, meeting face-to-face and adapting approaches based on individual need
- Deliver holistic, person-centred support addressing housing, financial, health, family, and wider wellbeing issues Identify early indicators of homelessness risk and take effective preventative action
- Liaise with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies via email, telephone, and face-to-face contact
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, commissioned services, and voluntary and community sector partners
- Coordinate multi-agency support to ensure residents receive joined-up, timely assistance
- Accurately record and document all activity using case management systems and relevant spreadsheets
- Communicate clearly and effectively, leading all interactions with empathy and understanding
- Ensure casework and advice comply with homelessness legislation, policies, and local processes
