Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 3 – Complex Needs
Are you a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to support young people with complex learning needs? Do you want to work in a specialist setting where your support has a real impact every day? This fantastic special school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 3 pupils with complex needs in a nurturing and well-resourced environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, TAs, LSAs, and support staff to provide high-quality support for pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism, severe learning difficulties and communication impairments. This Teaching Assistant role will involve both 1-2-1 and small group support, helping students engage with learning, develop independence and build confidence in a structured setting. A successful Teaching Assistant will be patient, proactive and confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone with experience in a special school or for a Teaching Assistant looking to develop their skills in supporting complex needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the academic and social development of pupils in Key Stage 3, many that are working at a primary level.

Job Role:
- Working as a Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 3 pupils with complex needs
- Providing 1-2-1 support as a Teaching Assistant for students requiring additional help
- Supporting in a small group and whole class basis
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering personalised lessons
- Supporting communication, independence and life skills as a Teaching Assistant
