SEND English Teacher – SEND School
Are you an inspiring English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a SEND setting? This fantastic specialist school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND English Teacher to join their team.

As an English Teacher, you will teach small classes of students with a range of additional learning needs, delivering engaging and highly differentiated lessons that support literacy, communication and confidence. You will create a structured and inclusive environment where students feel safe, valued and motivated to learn.

The school boasts excellent facilities and access to high-quality resources, enabling creative and effective teaching. You will be supported by a dynamic Headteacher and a collaborative team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants who are committed to achieving the best outcomes for every student. This role would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher with strong subject knowledge and a genuine interest in SEND. Previous experience working in a SEND setting is desirable but not essential.

Job Role:
  • Teaching English to small classes of students with SEND
    • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
    • Supporting students’ literacy, communication and confidence
    • Creating a structured, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
    • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
    • Using a range of strategies and resources to meet individual needs
    • Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
    • Contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
