Salary: £55,000- £68,000

Are you an ambitious and inspirational Deputy Headteacher or Assistant Headteacher ready to take the next step in your career?
We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join a specialist school supporting children and young people with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), MLD and, complex needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher who is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable learners and committed to delivering high-quality education within a nurturing, inclusive environment.

The Role

Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving excellence in teaching and learning, and ensuring every pupil reaches their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the development and implementation of an ambitious, inclusive curriculum
    • Driving improvements in teaching, learning, literacy and student outcomes
    • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of education through robust quality assurance processes
    • Coaching, mentoring and developing teaching and support staff
    • Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour across the school
    • Leading school improvement initiatives and contributing to strategic planning
    • Building strong partnerships with families, external agencies and the wider community
    • Deputising for the Headteacher when required
About You
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient leader who can inspire others and create a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
You will have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    • Successful teaching and leadership experience within education
    • Previous Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher experience
    • Lead teaching and learning across a school or phase
    • A strong understanding of SEND and inclusive educational practice
    • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
    • Experience of coaching and developing colleagues
    • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
    • The ability to lead with integrity, compassion and determination
    • Experience within a specialist or SEND setting is highly desirable.
