Job Description

Position: Exams Officer
Location: Secondary School in Southall
Job Summary:
The Exams Officer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the examination process in the secondary school. They are responsible for the efficient and effective administration of internal and external examinations, ensuring compliance with exam board regulations and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate exam timetables, scheduling and room allocations for internal and external examinations.
  • Ensure all exam papers, scripts, and other materials are ordered, received, securely stored, and distributed appropriately.
  • Communicate exam arrangements to students, staff, and exam invigilators, providing necessary information and instructions.
  • Coordinate exam invigilation, including recruiting, training, and scheduling invigilators.
  • Oversee the collection, submission, and storage of exam scripts and coursework.
  • Manage exam clashes, special considerations, access arrangements, and other special requirements for students with additional needs.
  • Liaise with exam boards, ensuring all necessary documentation and information is submitted accurately and on time.
  • Monitor and report on exam administration and results, providing regular updates to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Respond to queries and issues related to exams, providing support and guidance to students, staff, and parents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of exam entries, results, and processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional qualifications in education, administration, or related fields preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably in exam administration or assessment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of exam board regulations and procedures, with experience working with exam boards such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, or other relevant bodies.
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications and software, including Microsoft Office and database management systems.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
