Pertemps Education is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded Independent SEN School in Hemel Hempstead, seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing and well-resourced specialist setting, supporting Key Stage 2 pupils with a range of additional needs. The school offers exceptionally small class sizes of 3–6 pupils, allowing teachers to deliver highly personalised learning and make a genuine impact on each child's educational journey.

- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment where pupils can thrive.
- Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Monitor progress against EHCP targets and contribute to reviews and assessments.
- Foster positive relationships that promote confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
- Previous experience teaching within an SEN and/or SEMH setting – Essential
- Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies and inclusive classroom practice
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, or complex learning needs
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
