SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

*** Location - SEN school, Ward of Edgbaston
*** Support Autistic children who require additional support
 
The Role:
Provide specialist support for autistic pupils through a mixture of 1:1 work, small-group intervention, and structured classroom assistance. You will help pupils follow routines, access learning, build confidence, develop communication, and engage more positively with the school day, while working closely with teaching staff and wider professionals to support progress.
 
The Candidate:
You are calm, patient, and able to build trust through consistency and clear communication. You want practical school-based experience, you can stay composed in a specialist setting, and you are interested in how focused support helps autistic pupils feel more secure and make better progress. This role would suit a graduate who wants relevant SEN experience before progressing into educational or clinical psychology.
 
Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in a creative subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Career Goals – A desire to pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.
