Economics Teacher (Fixed-Term – 6 Months)
Location: Durham
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (6 months)


A high-achieving and ambitious secondary school in Durham is seeking to appoint an outstanding Economics Teacher to join its successful and well-resourced department from September for a six-month, full-time position.


This is an excellent opportunity to work within a school known for its strong academic outcomes, positive learning culture, and commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 4 and 5, delivering engaging and rigorous Economics lessons that promote deep understanding and critical thinking.


The Role:
  • Teach Economics across KS4 and KS5
    • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
    • Assess, monitor, and support student progress to ensure excellent outcomes
    • Contribute to the wider life of the department and school
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    • Have experience teaching Economics at secondary level (A-Level desirable)
    • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Economics
    • Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
    • Be an effective team player with excellent communication skills
