April & September We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher to join our team at a school in West London. The ideal candidate will be able to lead small groups of students with a wide range of Special educational needs. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities of a SEN Secondary School Teacher include:
- Planning and delivering lessons that are differentiated to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs.
- Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each student and creating individualised education plans (IEPs) to support their learning and development.
- Using a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and support their progress.
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as teaching assistants, therapists, and parents, to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and tracking students' progress, evaluating their achievements, and adjusting the curriculum as needed.
- Providing emotional support and building positive relationships with students to promote their well-being and social development.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and teaching strategies.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of students' progress and achievements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs.
- Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs preferred.
