Acquisitions Officer – Housing – East London £28 per hour (Umbrella) | Full-Time | Hybrid Working
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Acquisitions Officer to join a busy Housing team in East London on a full-time contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with proven experience working specifically as an Acquisitions Officer within housing or local government settings.

You will work closely with landlords, agents, developers, and internal stakeholders to identify and secure properties in line with council requirements and housing standards.

- Hours: Full-time
- Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days in the office
You will work closely with landlords, agents, developers, and internal stakeholders to identify and secure properties in line with council requirements and housing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and acquire suitable residential properties for temporary or permanent housing use
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, agents, and housing providers
- Negotiate lease terms and agreements
- Conduct property inspections and ensure compliance with housing standards
- Support homelessness prevention and housing supply initiatives
- Maintain accurate records and monitor acquisition performance
- Work collaboratively with housing, legal, and finance teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation and council policies
- Previous experience working as an Acquisitions Officer is essential
- Experience working within housing, temporary accommodation, or local authority environments
- Strong understanding of housing legislation and property standards
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage a busy and varied workload effectively
- Strong communication and organisational skills
