Housing Sustainment Team Manager
Location: East London
Contract: 3 Months Ongoing Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (Maximum 2 Days Onsite)
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

An East London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Housing Sustainment Team Manager to lead a newly established Housing Sustainment Team focused on delivering a proactive, strength-based approach to homelessness prevention.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in transforming homelessness prevention services by identifying and supporting households at risk of homelessness at an earlier stage, helping to address challenges before they escalate into crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Housing Sustainment Officers.
    • Drive the delivery of a holistic, person-centred housing sustainment service aimed at preventing homelessness.
    • Oversee the identification of households at risk through data analysis, referrals and partnership working.
    • Ensure tailored advice, assistance and support is provided to vulnerable residents facing housing challenges.
    • Promote the service internally and externally, encouraging appropriate referrals from partner organisations.
    • Monitor team performance, service outcomes and ensure high standards of case management.
    • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partner agencies.
About YouThe successful candidate will have:
  • Previous experience managing housing, homelessness prevention or housing sustainment services within a local authority or similar environment.
    • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating frontline teams.
    • A thorough understanding of homelessness prevention legislation, housing options and tenancy sustainment practices.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Experience building productive partnerships with organisations such as the DWP, Social Care services, GPs, voluntary and community sector organisations, landlords and other professional agencies.
    • A proactive, solution-focused approach and a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for residents.
