Tenancy Support Officer
Location: South East London
Rate: £24.28 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 Months Ongoing
Hours: Full Time
Working Pattern: Hybrid – Minimum 2-3 days per week in the office
DBS Requirement: Standard DBS Required
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tenancy Support Officer to join a busy Housing Services team in South East London on an ongoing contract basis.
This role is focused on providing practical tenancy support to new and transferred tenants, helping them successfully settle into their homes and sustain their tenancies. Working closely with the New Builds Tenancy Enforcement Officer, you will manage a varied caseload of residents with differing support needs and ensure appropriate interventions are in place to promote successful tenancy outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify support needs and develop tailored support plans for new tenants during the first 6–12 months of their tenancy.
- Provide guidance, advice, and practical assistance to new and existing transferred tenants to help them settle into their homes.
- Work proactively with vulnerable tenants and those requiring additional support to sustain their tenancy.
- Conduct assessments and make referrals to internal and external support agencies where appropriate.
- Support tenants with issues relating to welfare benefits, budgeting, health, wellbeing, and access to local services.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all actions are documented appropriately.
- Liaise with housing management, tenancy enforcement, support providers, and other stakeholders to deliver a coordinated service.
- Monitor support plans and review outcomes to ensure tenants receive the assistance required to maintain their tenancy successfully.
- Experience working in a tenancy support, housing support, tenancy sustainment, neighbourhood housing, or related housing role.
- Strong knowledge of tenancy sustainment and housing management principles.
- Experience supporting vulnerable residents and working with external support agencies.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable individuals.
- Standard DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Ability to attend the office a minimum of 2–3 days per week.
- Experience working within a local authority or social housing environment.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, homelessness prevention, and support services available to tenants.
