Revenues Officer – Business Rates
Location: Fully Remote
Rate: £25–£30 per hour umbrella, depending on experience
Contract: 3 months ongoing
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Working Pattern: Fully remote
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Revenues Officer to join a local authority Revenues team on a temporary ongoing basis.
The role will have a strong focus on Business Rates, dealing with a range of cases and ensuring revenues are collected in line with relevant legislation and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Business Rates accounts and enquiries.
- Assess and process Business Rates cases accurately and within required timescales.
- Apply Non-Domestic Rates legislation, recovery procedures and relevant relief schemes.
- Interpret legislation and make decisions on complex or challenging cases.
- Deal with enquiries from businesses and other stakeholders professionally.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all actions are properly documented.
- Support the wider Revenues service as required.
- Previous experience working within a Local Authority Revenues service.
- Strong and recent Business Rates experience.
- Good knowledge of Non-Domestic Rates legislation, recovery processes and relief schemes.
- The ability to interpret legislation and apply it to complex cases.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Experience working remotely with minimal supervision.
