Looking for a role where you can guide learners towards college, employment, and independence?

We are looking for a Key Stage 4 / Post-16 Learning Mentor to join our Alternative Provision, supporting older learners as they prepare for life beyond education.

This is a relationship-led role focused on building confidence, developing life skills, and supporting learners to progress into college, work placements, or employment.

The Role:
  • Supporting learners (KS4 / Post-16) on a 1:1 or small group basis
    • Building strong, consistent relationships with young people
    • Supporting Functional Skills (Maths & English) in a practical, engaging way
    • Assisting with work placements and employability skills
    • Preparing learners for transition into college, training, or employment
    • Maintaining clear structure, boundaries, and expectations
    • Tracking progress against individual targets

The Person:
  • Experience working with young people (education, youth work, care or similar)
    • Confident supporting older learners with independence and life skills
    • Calm, resilient, and able to manage challenging behaviours
    • Able to build trust while maintaining firm boundaries
    • Practical and proactive approach to learning and engagement
    • Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred

What We Offer:
  • Support from experienced Lead Learning Mentors
    • A positive, forward-thinking team culture
    • Opportunity to shape and grow within a developing provision
    • Modern, well-maintained setting in a peaceful countryside location

What Our Staff Say:

“The managers are extremely supportive”
“I felt so welcome from the minute I stepped inside the door”
“Coming to work is like going to a holiday house”

Who We Are:
  • We are an Alternative Learning Provision (ALP) supporting young people aged 4–25.
    • Our focus is simple — build relationships first, then progression follows.
    • We support learners to overcome barriers and move forward into education, employment, or independence through bespoke, real-world pathways.

Important Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car (mileage paid at 45p per mile) as some transporting learners is necessary.
