About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions, supporting product development from concept through to production. You’ll act as a technical lead within projects, helping to shape design decisions, improve engineering practices, and ensure robust, compliant, and efficient solutions are delivered.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical ownership, collaboration across disciplines, and mentoring others while still staying close to hands-on engineering.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking technical responsibility for mechanical engineering delivery across projects, including subsystems and technology development
    • Leading and supporting mechanical engineering activities across cross-functional teams
    • Producing and guiding high-quality engineering work packages across multiple projects
    • Ensuring designs meet technical, safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
    • Driving best practice in mechanical design (including manufacturability, cost, assembly, and maintainability)
    • Supporting progression of projects through key milestones into production
    • Acting as a role model for junior engineers, supporting development and training
    • Promoting engineering consistency, quality, and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng essential, MEng desirable or equivalent experience)
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and best practice
    • Experience using 2D and 3D CAD tools
    • Understanding of Design for Manufacture / Assembly / Cost / Maintainability principles
    • Experience working in a relevant engineering or manufacturing environment
    • Ability to interpret technical requirements and develop robust design solutions
    • Strong focus on delivery to project milestones and deadlines
    • Willingness to continue professional development and progress towards chartership (desirable)

What’s in It for You

  • Salary up to £53,000
    • Hybrid working model (office in Bristol + remote flexibility)
    • Opportunity to work on advanced, high-tech engineering projects
    • Career development and structured learning opportunities
    • Collaborative and supportive engineering culture
    • Exposure to complex, regulated, and innovative product development
