Maintenance Operative
Location: Leicester
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Break: 1-hour lunch break, including 30 minutes paid
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
About the RoleWe are currently looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Operative to join our team in Leicester.
We’re looking for someone with previous maintenance experience who is confident carrying out general repairs, upkeep, and maintenance tasks across a range of areas.
A background in a particular trade is not essential — we are open to candidates with experience in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, decorating, building maintenance, or other relevant trades. Multi-skilled experience would be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs
- Respond to day-to-day maintenance requirements
- Identify and report any defects or issues
- Complete basic repairs across various trades
- Assist with plumbing, carpentry, decorating and other maintenance tasks
- Ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Follow relevant health & safety and compliance procedures
- Keep maintenance areas clean, safe and organised
- Work as part of a team while also being able to work independently
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous maintenance experience
- Is practical, hands-on and able to use common tools
- Has experience in one or more trades
- Is reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Takes pride in completing work to a good standard
- Has a good understanding of health & safety
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Is willing to learn and develop their skills
