Electrical Contracts Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a growing renewable energy business delivering commercial and industrial solar PV projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional with a strong electrical background and proven experience managing solar installations from pre-construction through to completion.

You will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple Solar PV projects from award through to commissioning and handover.
  
  
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and delivery.
  
  
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders.
  
  
• Ensure all projects comply with current electrical regulations, industry standards, and HSE requirements.
  
  
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and commercial performance.
  
  
• Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings.
  
  
• Support procurement activities and materials management.
  
  
• Produce and review project documentation, risk assessments, and method statements.
  
  
• Manage project variations and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  
  
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
  
  

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager within the renewable energy or construction sector.
  
  
• Strong Solar PV project delivery experience.
  
  
• Electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  
  
• Excellent knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
  
  
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
  
  
• Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour teams.
  
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  
  
• Strong commercial awareness and budget management skills.
  
  
• Full UK Driving Licence.
  
  

Desirable Requirements

• SMSTS qualification.
  
  
• IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
  
  
• Experience delivering commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
  
  
• Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and EV charging infrastructure.
  
  
• AP (Authorised Person) qualifications.
  
  
• Experience working on renewable energy frameworks and large-scale infrastructure projects.
