Warehouse Operations Manager
Hayes | Up to £55,000 + 10% Target Bonus

Are you an experienced warehouse operations leader with a background in airfreight, freight forwarding or highly regulated logistics environments?
An International Freight Forwarding is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead their primary UK airfreight gateway near Heathrow. This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient handling of import and export airfreight operations, managing large teams within a complex, unionised environment.

Your Package:

  • Salary: up to £55,000 + 10% target bonus
    • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
    • Predominantly office hours, although as this is a 24/7 operation there will be an occasional requirement to support the site outside standard hours.
What you'll be doing:
  • Leading all warehouse and gateway cargo activities across their primary UK airfreight operation at the Heathrow Depot
    • Ensuring compliance with Aviation Security, Dangerous Goods, GDP/MHRA and Health & Safety standards
    • Managing operational performance, productivity and service delivery metrics
    • Leading, coaching and developing large operational teams across multiple shifts
    • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes
    • Working closely with customers, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders
    • Supporting site compliance, training and operational governance requirements
What we're looking for:
  • Proven experience managing large operational teams within a freight forwarding environment
    • Strong knowledge of airfreight import/export operations and freight forwarding processes
    • Experience working within regulated environments, including Aviation Security, Dangerous Goods and GDP/MHRA requirements
    • Previous experience managing within a unionised workforce
    • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Commercial awareness, including budget management and understanding operational performance metrics
    • Ability to analyse data, identify opportunities and drive operational improvements
    • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office products
    • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances, including 5-year referencing, DBS and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC)
If you're a strong people leader with airfreight or freight forwarding experience and a passion for operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
