An International Freight Forwarding is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead their primary UK airfreight gateway near Heathrow. This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient handling of import and export airfreight operations, managing large teams within a complex, unionised environment.

An International Freight Forwarding is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead their primary UK airfreight gateway near Heathrow. This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient handling of import and export airfreight operations, managing large teams within a complex, unionised environment.
Your Package:
- Salary: up to £55,000 + 10% target bonus
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Predominantly office hours, although as this is a 24/7 operation there will be an occasional requirement to support the site outside standard hours.
- Leading all warehouse and gateway cargo activities across their primary UK airfreight operation at the Heathrow Depot
- Ensuring compliance with Aviation Security, Dangerous Goods, GDP/MHRA and Health & Safety standards
- Managing operational performance, productivity and service delivery metrics
- Leading, coaching and developing large operational teams across multiple shifts
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programmes
- Working closely with customers, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders
- Supporting site compliance, training and operational governance requirements
- Proven experience managing large operational teams within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong knowledge of airfreight import/export operations and freight forwarding processes
- Experience working within regulated environments, including Aviation Security, Dangerous Goods and GDP/MHRA requirements
- Previous experience managing within a unionised workforce
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness, including budget management and understanding operational performance metrics
- Ability to analyse data, identify opportunities and drive operational improvements
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office products
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances, including 5-year referencing, DBS and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC)
