JOB TITLE: Criminal Solicitor (Proceeds of Crime)
PQE REQUIRED: 4+
LOCATION: London
SALARY: Circa £70,000 (DOE)

THE ROLE:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Solicitor to join a specialist team focusing on proceeds of crime work within a national prosecution environment. You will be responsible for advising on and preparing complex cases involving asset restraint, confiscation and enforcement, often linked to serious and organised criminal activity. The role involves analysing large volumes of evidence, advising investigators and law enforcement agencies from an early stage, and making informed decisions on charging and case strategy. You will manage cases through all stages of the prosecution process, including drafting detailed legal documentation, advising on disclosure and evidential issues, and supporting advocacy in complex proceedings. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including police forces, investigative bodies and international partners, often dealing with cross-border matters involving mutual legal assistance and asset recovery. The role also includes contributing to case strategy, preparing briefing materials and ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and in line with regulatory and procedural requirements.

THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with strong experience in criminal law, ideally with exposure to proceeds of crime, asset recovery or complex financial investigations. You will demonstrate excellent analytical ability, strong drafting skills and the ability to manage complex casework involving significant volumes of material. You will be confident advising on evidential and procedural issues, with a sound understanding of criminal procedure and disclosure obligations. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential. Experience of working with multiple agencies or on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters would be advantageous.

THE FIRM:
This is a specialist and highly regarded organisation operating at the forefront of complex criminal and financial investigations. The team is known for handling significant and sensitive matters, offering a collaborative and professional environment where lawyers can develop specialist expertise.

PACKAGE:
Salary circa £70,000 (DOE) together with a comprehensive benefits package, structured career development and the opportunity to work on high-profile and complex cases within a specialist legal environment.
