JOB TITLE: Private Client Solicitor (Head of Department)                  
PQE REQUIRED: 6+       
LOCATION: North Yorkshire                
SALARY: Up to £75,000 DOE                   

THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will oversee a busy and well-regarded private client department undertaking a varied and high quality caseload. The role will involve advising clients across a broad range of matters including wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, tax planning, powers of attorney and Court of Protection work. The department acts for a loyal and longstanding client base, with many matters involving complex estate and succession planning issues. This role would suit someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships and providing tailored advice across often sensitive and technical matters. In addition to fee earning responsibilities, the successful individual will take an active role in leading and developing the department. This will include supervising and mentoring team members, supporting business development initiatives and helping shape the future direction and continued growth of the private client team. The position offers genuine influence within the wider firm and would suit someone looking for a long-term opportunity where they can make a meaningful impact.

THE CANDIDATE:
Applications are welcomed from experienced Private Client Solicitors or Legal Executives with strong technical expertise and a solid background managing a broad range of private client matters. Candidates may already hold a leadership position or be looking to step into their first departmental management role. The firm is keen to speak with individuals who are ambitious, commercially aware and interested in contributing to the ongoing development of both the team and wider business. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and client care skills, demonstrate a collaborative approach and be confident supervising and supporting colleagues where required. A proactive mindset and interest in building strong professional relationships internally and externally will be important for success in the role. STEP qualification or progress towards STEP would be advantageous but is not essential.
