JOB TITLE: Clinical Negligence Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: 2+
LOCATION: Merseyside
SALARY: Up to £40,000 (DOE)
THE ROLE:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join an established and supportive team. You will manage a varied caseload of medical negligence claims from initial instruction through to settlement, mediation or trial, including issued claims.
Your responsibilities will include taking client instructions, preparing Letters of Claim and Schedules of Loss, conducting legal research, developing case strategies and instructing Counsel and experts where required. You will also negotiate settlements, engage in ADR, prepare for and attend Court hearings and keep clients informed throughout the progression of their claims.
This is a client focused role where you will provide clear, compassionate and practical advice while managing your own caseload effectively. There will also be opportunities to contribute to networking and business development and support the wider team.
THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' PQE and experience managing a varied Medical Negligence caseload, including litigated matters and issued claims.
You will have strong knowledge of litigation and Court procedures, together with excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills. A high level of client care and emotional intelligence is important, as is the ability to build trust and manage client expectations throughout what can often be challenging claims.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, commercially aware and resilient, with a strategic approach to case management and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
THE FIRM:
This opportunity is with a well established regional law firm with a strong focus on providing high quality, client focused legal services. The firm has a supportive and open culture, with teamwork, guidance, learning and employee wellbeing at the heart of its approach.
You will join a friendly and collaborative environment where development is encouraged and employees are recognised for their contribution. The firm is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where people feel valued and supported.
PACKAGE:
The firm offers a generous holiday allowance which increases with PQE, alongside bank holidays and additional Christmas leave. Hybrid working is available, with flexibility around four-day or compressed hours also considered.
Additional benefits include paid sick and dependant's leave, birthday leave, volunteering days, staff discounts, wellbeing and social events, bonus and recognition schemes and regular salary and performance reviews.
