CHILDCARE SOLICITOR, 2+ PQE, £45,000 - £60,000 DOE, Hertfordshire– Join a Legal 500 ranked Family Department recognised by Chambers & Partners for Public Law, handling complex childcare cases with excellent advocacy support, career progression and flexible working. JOB REF: 5766
THE ROLE:
An established law firm is seeking a talented Childcare Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE to join its highly regarded Public Law Care Team. You will manage your own caseload of public law children matters and undertake advocacy in care proceedings, supported by an experienced team and an excellent network of leading counsel. Where court proceedings are necessary, you will have the opportunity to conduct your own advocacy, including hearings through to final hearing.
THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years’ PQE in family law and Children Panel Accreditation is essential. You will have proven advocacy experience and the confidence to manage care proceedings from initial instruction through to conclusion. A strong understanding of Legal Aid work, including experience using the Legal Aid Agency portal, is required. You will have excellent organisational skills, be confident managing your own caseload.
THE PACKAGE:
The role offers 25 days’ annual leave plus a day off for your birthday, an employee assistance scheme, enhanced family policies, regular CPD and training, a clear career progression framework, performance based bonuses, discounted legal fees and excellent secretarial support. Flexible working is available after a three month office based probation period, with a minimum of three days per week in the office thereafter.
